What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy focuses on the development of self-help skills, fine motor coordination and integration of information received by the senses. Our goal is to assist patients in maximizing their potential through acquiring the skills necessary for independence in daily living.

Who We Help:

Occupational Therapy can help children and adults develop or regain the skills necessary to:

. Perform activities of daily living (grooming, bathing, dressing, self-feeding, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
. Perform fine motor tasks (manipulating buttons, zippers, snaps, buckles and tying shoes)
. Increase upper-extremity muscle strength, range of motion, coordination and endurance following illness or surgery
. Gain functional use of orthotic or prosthetic devices
. Improve handwriting
. Increase self awareness and safety
. Gain school readiness skills
. Improve sensory processing
. Increase attention and self-awareness (self-regulation strategies)
. Play age-appropriately
