"When I first started Interactive Metronome, I couldn't even make the simple motion of clapping my hands together. I just froze up and became frustrated.I don't know how, but Interactive Metronome has made me more cognitively aware, more focused, and more concentrated. These things are still occurring, and I expect it to last a lifetime." What is Interactive MetronomeTM (IM)?
Interactive MetronomeTM is a unique computer based treatment modality used by more than 1700 clinics, hospitals, and schools.
Interactive MetronomeTM helps individuals improve their timing and rhythm, which affects high-level cognitive, social and academic skills.
Interactive MetronomeTM Program Improves:
- Attention, concentration, self organization - Timing, coordination, motor planning and sequencing - Control of aggression and impulsivity - Balance, strength and endurance - Reading and language processing
Who We Help:
Interactive MetronomeTM can benefit both children and adults with developmental disorders, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA). How Interactive MetronomeTM Accomplishes Results:
- Patients listen to the sound of a computerized metronome beat though headphones and perform a series of simple coordination exercises in time to the beat.
- While practicing keeping this rhythm, the brain is trained to plan, sequence and process information more effectively.
- Improvements in timing are clearly measured, and the individual is challenged to progressively improve his or her scores, which builds coordination and confidence.
